Worthington Owen retained to sell 2 assets on behalf of Liverpool City Council

Liverpool City Council has appointed local property consultancy Worthington Owen to deal with the sale of two City Centre offices buildings that have been deemed surplus to requirements.

Premier Court is located on Hatton Garden close to the junction with Crosshall Street and Tithebarn Street and provides 40,804 sq ft over basement, ground and 5 upper floors. It includes the former Epstein Centre to the rear which is a self-contained office. The site includes 28 parking spaces within a central covered courtyard.

Venture Place on Sir Thomas Street lies directly opposite the Metquarter shopping centre and was formerly home to BBC Radio Merseyside from 1967 – 1981. Built around 1960, it comprises 45,004 sq ft of space over basement, ground and 7 upper floors.

Andrew Owen of Worthington Owen who is instructed to dispose of the buildings commented, “The sales of Premier Court and Venture Place offer a rare opportunity to acquire office buildings in the heart of Liverpool City Centre with vacant possession. We are delighted to have been instructed by Liverpool City Council to deal with these disposals and are confident that we will receive excellent levels of interest.’

Cabinet Member for Growth and Economy, Cllr Nick Small, said: “The sale of both buildings is part of the Council’s drive to deliver long-term savings and generate capital receipts which can be reinvested in city projects. The sales are aligned with the City Council’s wider accommodation strategy which seeks to rationalise its operational assets. We are delighted to be working alongside Worthington Owen in these sales.”

Offers of £2.5M are sought for Premier Court whilst Venture Place is on the market for £1.75M.
